FTP - FTP using Internet Explorer 7

This demo will show you how to use IE7/Windows Explorer as an FTP client.

[1] Enter your FTP URL into the address bar in the following format:

ftp://cpanelusername@domain.com (replacing "cpanelusername" with your cPanel username and "domain.com" with your domain name)

*Note: You will now see a simply directory listing of your FTP account

[2] Click on the "Page" drop down and then click on "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer"

*Note: A new window will show up with a brief error. This error will always show up because Windows Explorer always tries using anonymous FTP first which is disabled for security reasons. You can ignore this error as it is completely safe.

[3] Click on the "File" drop down and then click "Log On As"

[4] Enter your cPanel username into the "User name" field

[5] Enter your cPanel password into the "Password" field

[6] Click the "Log On" button to connect to your FTP account

*Note: To browse into a folder you will want to double click on the folder's name. You can download and upload files by simply dragging and dropping them into their location.
