Acenet, Inc. FTP Guide


Prerequisite: Download Core FTP Lite and run the auto-installation wizard.

Step 1: On your desktop, click on the Core FTP Lite icon (the image shown below).

Step 2: Site Manager should automatically open (as shown below).

- If Site Manager automatically opens, skip step 3 and proceed to step 4.
- If Site Manager does not automatically open, proceed to step 3.

Step 3: Click on the Site Manager icon to open Site Manager (as shown below).

Step 4: Enter your domain name in the "Site Name" field (as shown below).

Step 5: Enter your IP address in the "Host / IP / URL" field (as shown below).

Step 6: Enter your cPanel username in the "Username" field (as shown below).

Note: When using an FTP account you created through cPanel, you must include @yourdomain.com after the username where yourdomain.com is the name of your domain.

Step 7: Enter your cPanel password in the "Password" field (as shown below).

Step 8: The last step in Site Manager is to click "Connect" (as shown below).

- You DO NOT need to modify ANY other settings in Site Manager.

Step 9: Now, you are logged in and ready to transfer your files (as shown below).

The bottom section of the screen is divided into two columns.The left side are the files on your computer and the right side are the files on the server.

Step 10: Click on the public_html folder on the right (server files) side (as shown below).

Step 11: Now, just drag the files on your computer (left side) to the server (right side).

- Your main web page should be named index.html (all lowercase).


- All your web pages should be placed in your public_html folder.
